Capsis Beach Hotel and Bungalows is a modern resort located on a private peninsula surrounded by botanical gardens, waterfalls, beaches, and a private zoo. The 450 bungalows are furnished in a rustic Greek style with light walls, richly patterned drapes, and tiled floors. All have balconies or terraces with sea or garden views and are equipped with air conditioning, cable television, Internet connections, hair dryers, and minibars.
The hotel has four swimming pools, including a separate pool for children, who are also kept entertained with the daily programme of sports and activities. Guests can head for the private beach or, for those who are feeling more energetic, there is a fitness centre and a variety of sports activities on offer. Evening entertainment is organised, including theme nights such as Greek barbecues and toga parties. Also onsite are two water sport centres, a scuba diving school, an outdoor chess board, a nightclub, and a private zoo. Zeus is a large, airy restaurant with panoramic views of the sea, and serves traditional Greek and international dishes. The restaurant opens for breakfast and dinner and a children's menu is available on request. The Poseidon Taverna is located beside the beach, opens for lunch and serves fish and Cretan dishes. Guests who wish to explore the rest of the island will find plenty worth visiting, including Fodele, the birthplace of the painter El Greco, 10 kilometres away, the Minoan Palace of Knossos, 28 kilometres away, and Melidoni Cave, 53 kilometres away. Heraklion Airport is 25 kilometres from the hotel, around 25 minutes by car.
